We are looking for an experienced project manager with a proven ability to create and manage translation project teams, ranging from standard business document translation to technical website and software localization.
Position responsibilities:
· Manage projects and project teams according to Elanex guidelines and quality standards, with little or no guidance once familiar with the Elanex system
· Managing budgets to ensure projects meet required margins
· Coordinate with project managers in other Elanex regions as necessary to assure successful completion of all Elanex projects
· Participate in the development/refining of Service Delivery documentation and training materials
Required skills and attributes:
· 5+ years experience in project management and in managing teams
· Knowledge of translation technologies such as machine translation or translation memory
· Experience consulting with clients regarding localization readiness, and with creation of ‘localization kits’
· Experience in the translation industry
· High level of business English and fluency in at least one other language
· Extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
· Ability to solve problems creatively, and to develop solutions to problems which are cost-effective and practical in a business context
· Ability to interact professionally with clients during the course of project work
· Ability to recruit, train and motivate teams
· Ability to develop and manage project budgets and negotiate with contractors
· Willingness to work unusual hours to 'get the job done' and to coordinate project team members around the world
· Home facilities including Windows Vista/7, Office 2007+ and high speed internet access
Additional notes
· The position will be based in San Francisco, with the ability to work from Elanex’s office in the Financial District, or to work from home
· Candidates located in other regions will be considered based on experience and other factors; relocation will not be offered.
· The successful candidate should be ready to start work as soon as possible.
