Jonathan Kirk, Founder
An Englishman who has lived in Italy, Japan, and America, Jonathan brings experience in how business is done on three continents. Jonathan studied at Cambridge University in England, and after several years in strategy consultancy co-founded systemsGo, now a leading provider of IT services, in Japan. He then co-founded eterniTV (renamed Convade in 2004), a provider of technology and services for creating searchable, browsable internet video archives, and incStream, a research and IP holding company. Jonathan speaks, reads and writes Japanese.
Donald J. Plumley, CEO
Don brings 25 years of global marketing, operational leadership and localization industry experience to Elanex. He was the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President at Bowne Global Solutions, from IDOC, the firm that launched BGS, through the initial industry consolidation over 10 acquisitions. Don created the brand and the global sales organization, and was behind the growth in sales from $20m to over $150m. Most recently Don was a principal at Bentō Strategy, a management advisory firm with focus in strategy and marketing. Previously, Don was Vice President and General Manager of Polycold Systems, a manufacturer of cryogenic refrigeration equipment, where he was responsible for significant growth in revenue and profitability along with leading the successful divestiture to a strategic corporate acquirer. He has also served in a variety of international sales and marketing leadership roles with sensor and instrumentation divisions of Honeywell. He holds a B.S. from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from UCLA.
Dave Drennan, CFO
Dave brings to Elanex over 30 years of experience in high technology business. He has helped fund and has held senior executive positions at numerous start-up enterprises. Formerly, he held VP positions at Seagate Technology in Finance, Sales, and Marketing, and was head of Corporate Development. Dave has lived and worked extensively throughout Asia and Europe. Dave is a CPA.
Troy Helm, SVP Operations
Responsible for our global production team, Troy brings to Elanex 18 years of international experience in both large and small companies. He lived in Japan for 7 years, where he was an engineering project manager for Apple Computer Japan. He has also worked with both US and Japanese companies as a management consultant with Strategic Decisions Group, developing corporate strategy and performing financial analysis. Most recently, Troy was VP of Business Development at ID Certify, a provider of infrastructure for legally binding digital signatures. Troy has a BA in international relations, an MS in management science and engineering from Stanford University. He is fluent in Japanese.
Serguei Komarov, CTO and SVP of Engineering
Serguei has nearly 20 years of experience in software engineering, operations, and management. Prior to Elanex, Serguei was a Director of Software Development at Silverpoint, a web software and consulting company serving independent schools. Over the course of eight years at Silverpoint, he was instrumental in building the companys product line. In February of 2013 Silverpoint was successfully sold to a larger competitor, Finalsite, and Serguei was retained to transition and integrate software development teams and platforms. Serguei has operational responsibility for our technology platform, making sure our systems continue their track record of reliability and managing development of new features and improvements to the Elanex platform. He is fluent in Russian.
Joe Dougherty, VP Sales
Joe brings to Elanex 18 years of management experience in localization and high tech. Most recently, Joe managed key international accounts for an Italian localization service provider and oversaw the development of innovative software for streamlining and automating the localization process. Prior to this Joe was a founding member of a London-based SaaS provider of online solutions for the engineering and construction industries. As Vice President of Technology, Joe ran their product management, software development and global operations teams. Earlier in his career, Joe spent ten years as a consultant in Accenture’s technology division, providing technology-driven business solutions for customers in the US and Europe. Joe has a degree in Computer Science from Lehigh University. He was born and raised in Philadelphia (USA), is a dual American and British citizen, and has lived and worked for the last 15 years in England, France, Germany, Finland and Italy. He speaks native English and fluent Italian.
